We giving away a prize!

For those of you that read our blog you would note that we don’t really give away prizes (as nobody sends us prizes to giveaway 🙂 )

But to celebrate Christmas and the festive season, we have decided to give away a R500 Naartjie voucher!

All you need to do is to comment below and suggest to us how we can raise funds in 2014. If possible, please tweet about this giveaway too!

Note : the giveaway is open to South African residents only and the winner will be notified via email on Friday 20th December 2013.

Hope all our readers have a very blessed festive season, thank you so much for your support in 2013 and we look forward to a wonderful 2014!

Raffles are a great way to raise funds if you can get someone to donate an awesome prize – even better would be if you could get your supporters to do a raffle on your behalf to raise money 🙂

If you could get the collection points people involved, it seems like a few schools are the venues, maybe have a pet show day and the kids attending the schools can enter their pets into various categories (biggest, smallest, fluffiest, strangest etc) their prizes could be something as simple as an old fashioned “blue ribbon ” and they pay x amount to enter a pet. Or a kids photo competition with categories like ( cutest smile, prettiest eyes, funny faces etc) with the same kind of prize.

Give all the kids in the school a tin with a slit in the lid to drop coins into it. The children who bring full tins can be given a reward. Nice giveaway 🙂

Ask corporates at the beginning of the year to provide funding as they allocate funds then. You could also try a Barnyard-style fundraiser. Maybe have someone create a mosaic or mural and get people to sponsor each space 🙂

I think you can raise more funds by getting companies to sponsor you products and you promote them on your social network page in return then you get the public to buy tickets for the raffle and do a big raffle hamper every month.

I think a great way to raise funds would be get the children involved in the fund raising. Something like having an auction for their pictures. Each child would draw something or the little ones would have their hand\foot print and the pictures would be hung up at a venue and people can buy the art work. Fun way to get the kids involved.

An awesome way to raise funds is to have an event, where some of the kids can perform, do a play, or a little choreographed dance. It’s ok if it isn’t perfect, that’s what makes it most adorable.
On the afternoon, or evening, sell refreshments, which will raise extra funds, and sell small items which the kids can make themselves.
It would be fun for the kids to get involved, and a good way to raise funds.

Use social media to your advantage and get people to post about what you need and will use the funds for on blogspot, facebook, Twitter etc. And as an incentive you could get sponsor to offer one person prize!
